Autumn 2009

My favorite season of the year has finally come. Autumn is simply wonderful….the cold wind brushing thru my face, the sight of trees in different colors, the faint sound of falling leaves….
It is a must to enjoy the fall colors each passing year. For me, it is a testimony of God’s marvelous hand. This year, we went to see a place here in Michigan. My love of Autumn and of photography combined made me come up with the photos you’ll find below.

Thanks to the Gadon Family for being such lovely subjects. Below you will find a slideshow of their photos.

And of course, thanks to my dearest husband….he made my autumn sweeter, more colorful, more romantic and picture perfect =)

Typhoon Ondoy Hits NCR

Just when everyone was looking forward to a fun weekend, typhoon Ondoy slapped a huge part of the Philippines’ National Capital Region. September 26,2009, a volume of rainfall greater than those of Hurricane Katrina caused a great destruction causing people to loose their homes, clothes and vehicles. Even worse, there were lives lost. On this very day of distress, the rich and the poor were on equal footing.
Below, you’ll find photos of what took place…..

I am thankful that our families and friends are all safe.
My heart goes out to the victims. Please help me pray for them….

Mackinac Island Getaway

Either before or after my hubby’s birthday, it has always been our tradition to go see a new place….This time ‘round, we went up north. Our post birthday celebration was located a little more than 300 miles away from our home…. Mackinac City and Mackinac Island (pronounced MAK-in-aw).

Going to Mackinac City and Mackinac Island is like stepping into another lifetime. It is very rich in history and culture, not in a boring but in an interesting kinda way.

On our first day on the city, we went to see Downtown Mackinac. We went to Fort Michilimackinac, had lunch in a waterfront with a great view of the Mackinac Bridge, did a litlle strolling on Mackinaw Crossings shopping mall and photographed historic landmarks including the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse. We then retreated on our waterfront hotel and had a chit-chat with friends while enjoying the sunset and the site of flying seagulls. A couple of hours later, we’re on our way to the Beer & Wine Festival and Laser Light Show….Our first day in Mackinac was a blast….

The next day, we we’re up early, excited to see the island. Hubby and I took a short walk by the beach while waiting for the sunrise….After breakfast, off we go to the ferry dock.
Mackinac Island, an island covering 3.8 square miles is 18 minute- boat ride away from the city. It is located in Lake Huron, between the state's Upper and Lower Peninsulas. The island was home to a Native American settlement before European exploration began in the 17th century. Bicycles and Horse-drawn carriages were the only means of transportation in this place.

There we visited Fort Mackinac, saw a wide variety homes with of impressive architectural styles, admired the famous Victorian Grand Hotel, where the classic movie “ Somewhere In Time” was filmed, took a good view of the governor’s summer residence and had a long, long walk at Mackinac Island State Park.

It was indeed a weekend to remember…
I had a fabulous time with my man and also enjoyed the company of great friends….

Trying out portraiture with Karen & Nikki

Among the limitless subjects in photography, I find it most challenging to capture an artistic representation of a person with all the colors, the emotions, the movements...the life...

I decided to give portraiture a try with my new found friends' daughters, Karen and Nikki. Karen, 4 and Nikki,9 are equally lovely and cute. They do make great models =)
I must admit, other than taking photos of them, spending time with these two very nice and well-behaved kids is indeed a blast. They are a breath of fresh air...real angels to be with....

HUbby's Birthday Dinner

My hubby’s birthday dinner turned out good. There’s plenty of food on the table and we are blessed to have met a very special family to spend his birthday with….It was indeed a simple yet thankful celebration of another year in his life.

Thank you, baby for appreciating the little effort I put into this…
I wish I could’ve done more.

To the Gadon Family, Jojo, Olive, Nikki and sweet little Karen, thanks for being a part of Carlo’s birthday. We really wish you’d stay…

Thankful for another year in my husband's life....

I didnt mean to sound cheesy but if words could capture how grateful I am for having my husband and how much I love him, it will be this song...

How much do I love you?
I'll tell you no lie
How deep is the ocean?
How high is the sky?
How many times in a day
Do I think of you?
How many roses are
Sprinkled with dew?

How far would I travel
Just to be where you are?
How far is the journey
From here to a star?
And if I ever lost you
How much would I cry?
How deep is the ocean?
How high is the sky?

How can i tell you what is in my heart?
How can i measure each and every part?
How can i tell you how much i love you?
How can i measure just how much i do?

How much do i love you?
I'll tell you no lie
How deep is the ocean?
How high is the sky?

I Love You,baby. I thank God for giving you to me. Your birthday is not just an ordinary day that adds up another year to your age, but it is also a very significant reminder of the day our Almighty God's design of the most perfect gift for ME was put to life....Your existence gave me the better half of my life.Thank you for your understanding, your generosity, your never-ending care and most especially for your sweet love.

Spend all your birthdays with me....
Happy Birthday.
